Investigator Meeting - Beijing

About the project

This multi-national Investigator Meeting was hosted for 200 delegates over 4 days in Beijing. Working in China is both rewarding and challenging. Fortunately, this was our sixth event in the country in the last 18 months.

The meeting was complex and included two concurrent rehearsal rooms, a monitor’s meeting, two-day plenary session, three workshop tracks, an exhibition and poster board display and a “selfie area” which included 1m high 3D lettering.

Production Man provided the AV, staging and production support for the conference including the supply and printing of the poster board hall and vendor booths.

The event also integrated the use of iPads for all delegates, simultaneous interpretation into two languages, touch screen monitors for rich media display and our event photographer to capture it all for posterity.

"We have worked together on many occasions and each and every time we do, we know that whatever request or expectation from the client, is met with consummate ease and professionalism from your side. Your calm, cool demeanour provides everyone with a reassurance that we are in a safe pair of hands and things will get done as we require. We see you as an extension of our team and know that whatever we ask, you will take in your stride and go that extra mile to make our lives so much easier."

National Awards Conference – Anglian Home Improvements

About the project

The annual business and awards conference for 700 sales staff for the UK’s largest home improvements company. Our last event incorporated a 20m blended widescreen projection supported by eighty panels of pixel mesh for a dynamic backdrop to the presentations. We had suggested a tv chat show studio treatment for the delivery of the key messages and this was supported by a live five camera shoot and full tele-prompting support.

Our content design and development included the dynamic backgrounds and the personalised animated awards stings for every winner. The supporting lighting included over fifty moving head fixtures which was topped off with a wow effect pyrotechnics display that complimented the major award sessions.

"A note of sincere thanks for the excellent job that you did in creating what was arguably our best ever Awards Day. Most people do not appreciate the enormous amount of prep that goes into creating and then delivering such an event... I do.

I have received many complimentary calls and texts and really they belong to you!"

Clinical Mega-Trial – Global

About the project

Miami, Sydney, Chicago, Copenhagen, Prague, Monte Carlo, Bangkok, Cartagena, Phoenix, Rio de Janeiro, Dubrovnik and Osaka.

This global clinical mega-trial visited twelve separate international destinations, each with a three to six day event.  One of the main challenges, in addition to the AV, was producing a consistency in quality and style for the branded backdrop.  This is just one of the many reasons that the client selected Production Man for this project.

Production Man has an unprecedented network of suppliers globally and so we already knew that we had boots on the ground that could deliver work of this quality –  while we supplied the same production manager to co-ordinate and attend every event, to manage all of the set-ups and rehearsals, and to show-call the meetings to ensure consistency of delivery.

In addition to the standard meeting requirements the events also included simultaneous interpretation, interaction via a polling app, technical layouts and provision for the exhibition that accompanied the trial and the provision of equipment for the welcome dinners.

“The client stopped by our desk yesterday and said Carl is the best AV Provider she has worked with… Carl surely makes our end product shine. He probably sleeps few hours too while working on these programs...away from family for weeks in the row. We all appreciate him....”

Accelerating Growth Conference – Tektronix

About the project

Tektronix approached Production Man to support them on a three-day internal sales conference in the Portuguese resort of Vilamoura.  The objective of the event was split evenly between education and updates on the product range and the market situation and reward and recognition for the achievements of the division and the individuals within it.

We supplied equipment and crew for the two days of plenary sessions that were interspersed with visits to the “GeekOut Lounge” which was a technology demonstration exhibition sited in the plenary room itself.  The third day comprised of setting-up and supporting a twelve breakout room stream of workshops with various requirements and finally the conference was rounded off with a glittering awards ceremony in an off site venue with a supporting band and disco.

“On behalf of the myself and the entire Tektronix team I would like to say a BIG THANK YOU for all of your relentless hard work you have done pre-event and onsite to make this year’s AGC a big success. You were supportive, resourceful when problem solving, professional throughout.

A huge thank you to making the speakers and myself, feel at ease every step of the way, your professionalism and experience was second to none.

I have received feedback from the EMEAI Regional Vice President all the way down telling me that this was the best Tek event ever and I am immensely proud of the whole team for supporting each other from start to finish to ensure it was a great success!”

Webcast, Hybrid and Blended

About the project

Production Man offers a world of possibilities to enable its clients to mix live and virtual event attendance for both presenters and participants. A large portion of our work in this field is assisting clients to transition previously live events into predominantly on-line events without losing the character, immediacy and interactivity of the live shows.  In many cases this has allowed clients to reach far larger audiences than has ever been possible before.

We work with a variety of streaming platforms and webcast tools to select the most appropriate combination to develop bespoke virtual and hybrid solutions that deliver on the individual objectives of your events.

An example of one of our projects involved an online multi-day, global event with five channels of live simultaneous interpretation, breakout rooms, polling, feedback surveys and individual, personalised link access for all attendees.  This allowed comprehensive reports and analytics to be collated and assessed post event to help to steer the content of following webcasts.

One of the tools we use to make online events more engaging is to gather one or more of the presenters into a studio set-up (This can be created in a venue or company offices) to give the production a more televised broadcast feel.  The energy created when the presenters can bounce off of each other and work behind the scenes to add creativity catapults a standard online event onto an entirely different level.

“I’ve worked with Carl a number of times over the past 3 years and now would always consider him my first port of call for any virtual or live event. He is the epitome of professionalism, calm and quality, with an unrivalled ability to make speakers and clients alike feel at ease – and look good! In addition to his impeccable tech know-how, he is incredibly personable, and very organized – a perfect bridge between tech and project management teams. I would highly recommend him and his team to any colleagues.”

Six City Event – Google

About the project

The brief was for six simultaneous events to be joined together from different international locations to demonstrate the power of the collaboration of Google’s new software.

The event integrated programs from the Google Suite including Slides for the presentations and question submission. Docs for online document collaboration and Hangouts for the live video link ups between the sites.

On behalf of our friends at Proud Robinson, Production Man provided the show calling and some AV Production Management for this challenging event. We supplied experienced international show callers to each site with the addition of our Lead Producer as the global caller at the Paris Hub.

The biggest challenge was synchronising all the events together. Each site had its own local language program and then on multiple occasions all the locations linked together for presentations and software demonstrations. The event concluded with a global Q & A session and then the playback of a collaborated music track recorded by a different instrument in each venue and then mixed together whilst the shown ran. Certainly, one of the most complex live events that any of the team had worked on to date.

"Everyone here knows and understands how ambitious the project was. Creative, fun, energy, innovative, uniqueness, ... are only few words out of the many others that came from the 1st feedback. THANK YOU. I'm extremely happy that we worked together. It was our first project together and we can't say that it was an easy one. You + your team did an awesome job. Merci and BRAVO."

European Kick-off Meeting – CocaCola

About the project

Following an 11th hour escalation in complexity, Production Man was approached by our friends at Eclipse Presentations to show call this demanding event for 3000 delegates in the Manchester Central event space.

The Eclipse backdrop comprised of six display surfaces which were all mapped together to show both independent and synchronised imagery. The dynamic animated content and multiple videos were complimented by live camerawork to the stage. This camerawork also extended to a remote broadcast from the exhibition area for vox pops and an outdoor guerrilla tour of CocaCola concessions in Manchester itself.
